Engage, Operate, Grow! Apex HCM’s Align 2019 Annual Conference a Success

Apex HCM’s recent Align 2019 conference featured the debut of a powerful new mobile app, a move to more SBO peer-to-peer instruction, and a celebration of what Chief Executive Officer Robert Digby considers a collective achievement. Last year, Apex HCM was listed among the Inc. 5000 – the iconic business magazine’s annual list of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the US – for the sixth time. It’s a feat reached by just three percent of Inc. 5000 businesses.

“We are simply a reflection of client service bureaus’ success,” Digby says. “If they grow, we grow. This conference is about everyone coming together to celebrate success.”

Align 2019 drew some 170 attendees, 40 percent of whom are clients who have joined Apex within the past few years. That alone signifies a company in strong growth mode. To that end, this year’s conference featured 31 educational sessions, each focusing on one of four primary tracks – Business growth, operational best practices, products and knowledge.

Breakout sessions and panels covered an exhaustive range of topics including hiring top-notch sales professionals, selling to millennials, hardening your security posture, improving client retention while increasing profits, quarter end best practices, avoiding payroll pitfalls and tax headaches and navigating the increasingly blurred lines between payroll and HCM, among many others.

“We also had more presenters from the service bureaus participating in panels and leading breakout sessions,” Apex Marketing Manager Victoria Crucet said. “Clients love to hear from others who are actually using the same products they’re currently using or considering.”

Perhaps the most excitement was centered on the debut of Apex’s new mobile app with a new and improved user experience. The app will be used by end-user clients’ employees for self-service functions, enhanced GPS and an in app email text capability.

“It represents the first step in UI/UX evolvement of our products,” Digby says.

“I heard one attendee say that he typically walks away with a few nuggets of information he can use from each conference he attends,” Digby says. “But at our conference, he walked away from every session with a few useful nuggets. That’s a pretty powerful statement.”
